All of the films in the collection were first broadcast on Houston Public Media/Houston PBS Ch. 8, and then distributed to all PBS stations in Texas and often to educational outlets, including area school districts, for classroom use.
Also included within the collection are interviews, correspondence, scripts, notes, newsclippings, and photos that were used in the production of the documentary as well as raw and b-roll footage that never made it into the half-hour and one-hour programs due to television time constraints. The A/V formats contained in the collection include DVD, VHS, and mini DV tapes.

Founded in 2001 by Jim Bailey and Kim Bjork Lykins, Texas Foundation for the Arts' mission is to capture the uniqueness of Texas arts and culture through the creation of documentary films and other television programming.
