Additional Description

Biographical / Historical

The Art & Antique Study Group (AASG) was founded by thirty-five women in Houston in 1960 originally as "Antique Study Group" for the purpose of studying and presenting on antiques, collectibles, and various topics in Texas and American history. At the start of its 2022-2023 meeting period, the organization changed its name to the "Art & Antique Study Group" and broadened its purpose to study "all aspects of the Arts."

AASG is governed by a constitution and by-laws, and officers such as the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer are elected annually during the February meeting. The organization hosts 4-5 meetings each year at various venues, primarily at members' residences.
