The Personal Materials Series includes a wide-range of personal papers and items, including poetry written by Mindiola, student gifts, artwork from his students, posters from his office, newspapers and clippings from Selena’s (Quintanilla) death, political buttons and advertisements, and other ephemera.

The many images in the Photographs and Media series document Mindiola at different points of his career at the University of Houston. These include candid pictures, him posing with national and international celebrities, and photographs at special events. The series also includes numerous photographs of students participating in the special events and academic programs. The series also contains audiocassettes containing recordings from multiple Mindiola research projects.
