Scope and Contents From the Collection: Vitae folders are arranged alphabetically, according to the last name of the individual. Each card contains information (education, date of birth, brief employment history, and sometimes a photograph) for people employed by the University of Houston. Some of the folders also contain newspaper clippings associated with that individual. For example, the folders relating to Paul Chu contain numerous newspaper articles associated to his research in the area of superconductor material....

The papers of Marguerite Ross Barnett contain speeches and written works, correspondence, and other information relating to her appointment and tenure as President of the University of Houston. Dr. Barnett's papers are arranged in five series, and chronologically within each series. The majority of the collection consists of speeches and written works.

Scope and Contents From the Series:

This series consists of a variety of audio and video tapes including one-inch video, three quarter inch U-matic, VHS, one-eighth inch reel to reel audio, audio cassettes, and several others. Most of them contain public service announcements relating to various university departments or events. The photographs that were originally part of this series have been removed and placed with all other University of Houston historic photographs.
